- Who This Policy Applies To This policy applies to all users of the TAKE1 mobile application. By creating an account you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. TAKE1 is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

Information you provide directly: Full name or display name, Email address, Date of birth (used for age verification and optional age filtering — never displayed publicly), Profile photo and headshot images, Video reel or portfolio clips, Creative roles, skills, bio, and professional information, Location (city or general area), Social media handles (Instagram, TikTok), Website or portfolio links, Written samples and creative work links, Messages sent to other users
Information collected automatically: Device type and operating system, App usage and interaction data, Location data (approximate, used to show nearby creators and places)
- How We Use Your Information We use the information we collect to: Create and maintain your TAKE1 account, Display your profile to other users on the platform, Connect you with other creative professionals in your area, Enable messaging and collaboration between users, Send notifications about matches, messages, and platform activity, Enforce our community standards and keep the platform safe, Improve and develop the TAKE1 app and services
- Messages and Private Communications Messages sent between users are stored securely to enable real-time communication. We do not read your private messages except when required by law or to investigate reported safety violations. Users may report conversations that violate our community standards and those reports may be reviewed by our safety team.
- What We Never Do We never sell your personal information to third parties. We never share your private messages with other users except as described in Section 5. We never display your exact location to other users — only your general city or area. We never display your date of birth to other users. We never share your data with advertisers without your explicit consent.
- How We Share Your Information We do not sell or rent your personal data. We may share information with: Service providers who help us operate the platform (listed in Section 9), Law enforcement when required by valid legal process, Safety reviewers when investigating reported violations of our community standards.
- Your Profile and Privacy Controls You control what appears on your public profile. From the Privacy Settings section of the app you can: Choose whether others can find you by email, Control whether your location appears on your profile, View and manage your blocked users, Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
- Third Party Services TAKE1 uses the following trusted third party services to operate: Supabase — secure database and file storage (supabase.com), Expo — mobile app development and distribution platform (expo.dev), Apple App Store — iOS app distribution, Google Play Store — Android app distribution (future)
- Data Security We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. Your data is stored on secure, encrypted servers. However no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
- Data Retention We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account we will delete your personal data within 30 days except where we are required to retain it by law.
